I just picked up my albino red tail a few hours ago. I just noticed that she is making a faint popping sound fairly regularly. She does not seem to be wheezing at all, and there is no mucous around her mouth. Should I get her to a vet right away, or is iit likely to be something else? If I don't need to get her to a vet, I was going to go to the Timonium Reptile Show tomorrow, but I'll pass that up if she need medical attention. Thanks for the help everybody.

Well, it could be an oncoming RI or nothing at all.
But since albinos are genetically weaker than normals, including the imuno systems, then get a GOOD vet to look at it.

Well, I've got a referral from my local herp society for good reptile vet, but I don't know if they work on weekends, and I can't get to the e-mail with his name on it until I get home. Does anybody know a good reptile vet in either the DC metro area, or in Eastern PA to NYC area that works on weekends? Also, I gave her a soak, as her skin was looking really dry, and she discolored the water a little orange. Afterwards though, her skin looked a lot better, and I think whatever discolored the water was something stuck on her skin. Also, the popping, while still going on, is much fainter. You almost have to hold her head next to your ear to even hear it now.

Here is a link for some Vets in PA. I would have it check out just to be safe.

If you can't get a vet over the weekend, raise her temps to the higher end of the range and make sure the humidity is close to where it needs to be.

Ok, I made it home safely, the Aliera seem to be doing well...she doesn't seem hungry, but she has no additional symptoms. I've got a Vet appointment this Monday for her. The vet is the same one for Quakertown that was listed on the website. I'll try and feed her again Monday after the vet appointement.
