Stupid question......
How can you tell the difference between regurg or poop?
Both my BCI and Childrens left a really smelly mess in their cages approx 48 hours after they ate.
(The temps and humidity are where they are supposed to be. )
The BCI.... it normally will poop about six days after a feeding. What was left in the cage did look like the poop and urates but it has never smelled like that.
As for the Childrens..... it is a tiny baby and I fed it the smallest pinky that I could find it gobbled it right down and it did not appear to have any problems. There were some white stuff that looked like urate with the childrens mess in the cage.
I am probably worried about nothing.... but better safe than sorry as tonight is feeding night again!!
I would also like to thank everyone here for all the help and information they provide.... I hope to someday be half the knowledge that some of the people here have!
Thanks again
Stormy

Well, poop can be smelly, in a poopy way, usually brown with some white (urates) and some liquid, but not always with liquid.
Regurge on the other hand, will usually smell of rotted flesh, ever smelled roadkill after a few days in the sun?
Also it usually has parts, from hair and leg bits, up to an almost complete yet headless food item.
Very rancid smelling.
Poop can some times have some small bits in it too, but there is a major diff between it and a regurge, look wise and smell wise.

48 hours it was a regurge. they stink to high heaven. Did it still have somewhat of a rodent form? and all soaking wet?

Both messes looked/smelled about the same....
It smelled like a really nasty poo not something rotting.
It did not have the appearance of anything rodent like. and did have some white with it.

Although it did not have the outward appearance of a regurg the smell was probably strong enough to be a rancid, rotting smell.
So should I play it safe and wait another week to allow the snake to recuperate?
Will the baby childrens be ok with missing another meal..... todays feeding will make 3 weeks and 3 days that I have had it. The first week it did not eat, week two ate and then two days later did the the regurg/poop thing. So that would make about three weeks with out a real meal, is that ok for a baby or should I start to worry?

With you feeling it is a regurge on them, then by all means, they need to see a vet, very possibly for dewormer treatment.
Usually panacur is used for this, it gets the worms good, but may take several treatments, without food in between to work properly.
The panacur is also relatively safe, as it will pass through without harm if overdone a little bit.
