In April I bought my little brother a baby beardie, yesterday I came over to check on it and he was very weak. When I picked it up it started having a seizure and I thought it died. I soaked it in warm water and force fead it because it was paper thin. Now he is much more alert but he does not have full function of all of his limbs mainly one of his hands. I am soaking him in pedilyte and still feeding him what should I do?

I'd take him to a experienced reptile vet as soon as possible if you can. What sort of set up is he in i.e. viv size, temperatures? The only thing it might be is partial paralysis where a lack of calcium or too large a food item can affect the nervous system in beardies. I think this paralysis mainly affects the hind legs but i'm not sure. Sorry i can't help more hope the little guy recovers

Sounds like it was fed too large or prey. But definately vet time.

Really do need more to go on here, like what is the diet it's been getting, was it underweight, had it been dropped etc.

Sounds like something nuerotic such as a possible spine or nerve injury with a larger underlying issue, possibly MBD or such.

Oh yeah, welcome to Redtail!

He is in a ten gallon setup with hot rock, undertank heater and uv light. The temp stays about 80. He is still eating and all his other body functions are getting better he is even moving his limbs a little more.

first thing i gota say is, take the hot rock out! it can burn beardies VERY easily, beardies have there heat sensors ON TOP of there body, so they wont really know that there burning up until its to late, either cut the cord and use it as a rock or just leave it unplugged,

what do u feed him?? and how large is it?? if its crickets and such, they cant be bigger then the space between the beardies eyes, sounds like vet time

ok for starters LOOSE THE HEAT ROCK these things are evil and shunned by the herp community
#2 be a lil more specific on the "UV" lighting now is it a full spectrum bulb(puts out uva and uvb)or is it one of those incandescents that just put out the uva?(the reason i ask is because they need the uvb to provide the beardie with proper calcium absorbtion into the bones and if htey dont get there uvb then there bones become really brittle)
#3 i'd work on bringing them temps up a bit
#4 whats the diet consist of (be specific on this please as in what veggies etc.)
#5 i think you might have some husbandry issue's hun i'd suggest you read up on some caresheets here's one to start with
bearded dragon caresheet written by lizard lake

and #6 keep us updated
