Inside/Out??
My male Hog has been breeding steady since December, he knocked up one of my female Hogs and was working a second female Hog.
This morning I noticed him defecating and saw this hanging, I've seen this before to some extent and it always corrects itself quickly. But tonight I went to check on the pair and noticed him still dragging it!
I just placed him in some luke warm water with a cup of sugar and will check back on him in an hour or so.
Any suggestions?

Looks like he slithered in bubble gum. Hum.... I am thinking a nice soak will help.

I have him soaking in a large Rubbermaid with some warm water and about a cup of sugar that I mixed in.
I'm hoping he'll suck it back in, but if by tomorrow morning he hasn't, I'll call my vet!!

Its a prolapse. The sugar water should cause it to retract. If it re-occurs your vet can put a stitch in to hold it in.

Is there an update on this guy? My boa prolapsed when he was about 6 months old, and eventhough Brett put him in some sugar water right away, we still took him to the vet the next day (it was actually New Year's Eve Day), and Simon got a cute, little, purple stitch. I hope things are ok for this little guy!

Sorry haven't updated this thread, it was a prolapsed Hemipenes. The good news is the vet was able to save the snake. The bad news is he could only save one Hemipenes and this male "may" not reproduce again.
They had to perform surgery to place back and remove one of the hemipenes as it was dieing and could not be saved. I called every vet/emergency room nearby that night and none treated snakes! I kept it moist and applied the sugar/water paste and did the best I could till I got it to a vet the next day. I was lucky to have seen this vet in such short notice, considering it was the weekend.
$375.00 for the surgery + $46.20 for the exam + $22.00 for antibiotics = about $475.00 w/tax!!
He'll have a nice Boaphile 421D to retire in.
I'm just glad this had a happy ending!

Ouch! for both him and you..... Glad he's going to make it. I commend you highly for spending the money to have him treated.

PS...
He did in fact knock up one of my Hog females for sure and quite possibly a 2nd female. This boy earned his Workman's comp for sure!

He'll help pay for his surgery and enough left over to keep him on large rats for many years to come.
