Ive just seen a reply from one of the gang making a recommendation for the use of neosporin on an injury.
Is there any data on the suggested uses of this or other topical antibiotics and do people here ensure they follow them?
There's a lot of medical talk about the non judicial use of antibiotics and mutation of bacteria into superbugs
If I cut myself, or had an illness, i would not go rushing to the medics until I was sure my immune system wouldnt clear the problem naturally.
any comments please.

I think the mutation thing is more related to human doctors perscribing stuff like Amoxacilian to every Tom, Dick and Harry that comes into their office with the sniffles or a cold, instead of only to those with a treatable bacterial infection.

No offence meant but what's the difference m8y?
Ive seen neosporin recommended here and there for any Tom Dick or Harry herp who may or may not even have an infection.
What makes iggy germs any less likely to transform in the long term?
I understand that herps internal wotsits are much slower than human's. I don't know what the expected recovery rate is for a human/herp equivalent infection or injury.
I expect someone will try to explain that they're preempting an infection. Whatever the reason for advocating use of antibios people should also inform of proper useage of such drugs.

Well, in human systems, we have been overloading ourselves with meds for years.
In reptiles, their systems and bugs haven't been over taxed like ours.
Their system is also a LOT slower than ours in fighting off things like infections so a little neosporin won't hurt a bit in the prevention. Just be sure to use the non pain reliever type.
