healthy eggs?????????
ok got a big question i need some answers yesterday. my aunt's snake is a 14' albino male/female lol was said to be a male for 12 years and now today it became a female he/she had eggggs. here are some pics i need to know if they are healthy i'm taking her snake and the eggs from her because she dosen't take care of them. look at the cage but don't mind it cause soon she will have her own bedroom.some are off to the side but some underneath don't know how many yet. what is a safe way for a begginer to see if the eggs are fertile. and what do i keep the eggs in. i was told an igloo cooler with vermiculite.i don't know i wasn't planning on breeding untill i understood more but my aunt put my male with her female for 2 months. and now egggggs!!!!!

the ones that are scattered about are no good.
But it looks like she is probably sitting on some.
Burms will naturally try to maternally incubate, and will usually cast bad eggs aside.
I would probably recommend removing the eggs from the mother and placing them in an incubator. and moving the snake right now is in my opinion a really BAD idea, she has just gone through the stress of laying/being gravid.
If you take her off her eggs, you need to give her total privacy for about a week, and not move her around.
That would probably spell disaster for her health.

Mmmm.. If you knew your aunt didn't care for her animal properly, why did you let her keep yours?
Especially in the same cage?
Sure it wasn't a planned breeding?

My concern would be is the snake healthy? The cage looks rather unsanitary. About the eggs........Do you have a good home for every one that could potentially hatch? I don't mean some one who is willing to buy a baby burm, I mean a GOOD home. They are one of the most often, dare I say THE most common snake dumped in rescues, turned loose, or put down? You have alot to think about. I'd say leave them with the mother and let her do her thing. ALso, you need to not move the snake, you need to just clean the cage around the snake as best as you can without moving her. After a week or so, then if she's healthy you may be able to move her at that point.

The other thing I noticed, is that the snake is sitting on her eggs directly on a heat pad.
those will dry out the eggs in no time, and they will not hatch if they stay there for more than a day or so.
If it was a planned breeding, im guessing there would of been a nest box.
You can let the female incubate, but the problems with that are consistancy, the snake can only compensate for slight temp changes, and she needs to have a steady surface temp thats right at about 91 degrees.
If you decide to incubate them (which it may be too late for) get your incubator calibrated and set up, and make sure the temps and humidity stay stable.
If you were asking my opinion.
Since you dont have an incubator ready (if your expecting eggs, you need one weeks in advance to stablize it), the snake obviously wasnt set up in a manner condusive to minimal stress reproduction, then I would throw the eggs away, dont let the snake sit on eggs that will likely not hatch, she has probably been through enough.
Egg laying is an extremely stressful thing for an animal. Done make it last longer that it has too.
That may sound mean, but I think its really the best thing to do.

we didnt' know the snake was a female and my aunt has never let the cage get that way b4 her excuse was she went out of town for 4 days last week.and it got like that in 4 days. which we all know how quick it can get dirty her prebirth shed. plus her feces. but i don't know yet i'm gonna see how she handles her snakes. no sorry i've only been keeping snakes for 1 year she kept them for a month almost 2 while i was out of town at my wifes parents house.and yes i have plenty of friends that are willing to help me find good homes for them
