I have handled up to an 18ft. 300lb female burm. I will get some pictures scanned in later for that one. I presently have a 13ft. 90+lb male burm and a 11ft. 60lb female. And here are some pics of them. the male is the albino. For scale there is me-6'5" 250lbs. I handle these every day and they are dog tame.
Oh yea, BRING ON THE TAPE MEASURER! We are ready at any time.

What is the offical Record? We are talking about Canebreak Rattlesnakes correct Crotalus Horridus Atricaudatus? Not Crotalus Horridus(Timber)?

I was going to scan mine and post it, but it was to big for the scanner....sorry all.....maybe if you could turn a set of binoculars around to where everything looks small, and you could take a picture through it......no....still to big.....

Correct, atricaudatus. Records are sketchy and outdated because most of the community has gone back to horrius with no ssp. I personally had a Cane that was a full 6.5'. And I have seen several knocking around 7' pulled out of South GA and Alabama. The past 5 years has actually produced some very large specimens as opposed to previous years. As the Eastern Diamondback is being extirpated from its home range (largly due to habitat destruction and Roundups), the Canebrakes are moving in as the dominant | |
