Re: Question about handle
Super Dwarf retics stay smaller, but they are fast and squirmy. They can be a handfull.
Not everything that everyone calls a dwarf stays small, so be careful who you get one from.

Re: Question about handle
Super dwarfs if I'm not mistaken get anywhere from 5-7 ft and dwarfs get anywhere from 9-13 ft

Re: Question about handle
Don't let the name "dwarf" fool you with retics... lol... Dwarf retics, such as Jampeas are really not THAT small... smaller than a mainland, yes... But they can still do damage and you NEED another person to help... Super dwarfs are smaller, but you really have to work with taming any of the dwarfs down because they will be a LOT flightier...
My jampea male is a prime example of how NOT to raise a dwarf... He is hard to work with, skiddish, doesn't like to be touched, etc.
and not too small either at 12-14ft right now...

Re: Question about handle
thanks for the compliment... He was not in the best shape when I got him -_- He's had a lot of TLC, but some behavior issues may not be able to be fixed... hopefully, but I don't know... He's not in pretty light phase in those pics either... He gets extremely light and GORGEOUS at night

That is very sad...and sometimes it's really too late to make the snake well again...but that doesn't stop me from trying, and I am glad to know you have such a good heart as well.
We are glad to have you with us here!

Re: Question about handle
welcome to the site dude!
in more "on guard" when i handle one of my adult female boas, she is a little flightier than the rest. kind of feels like a lesson for how to treat my more placid females though, as i do get a little more comfortable with them. this comfort gets my guard down a little and im learning to treat my placid ones a little more cautiously, even if they are placid, because whenever you read about these freak accidents involving injury to human through snake interraction, the snake "never acted like this before".
mine have never snapped at me, but i guess you never know, they could one day, ya know?
anyway, im talkin 6-7ft boas, the giants you talk about are a whole other ball game.
