Tinkerbelle - then and now
It's been 4 days shy of one year since I got my little (now not so little) african rock python, Tinkerbelle. I was given some really sound advice when I decided to get one, and managed to find a breeder, so I wasn't trying to tame a wild caught. In the year since I got her, I've practiced for when she's bigger. She's always been locked in her cage, I've hook trained her well, and I've always given her the respect that she will deserve as she continues to grow. Jeff Ronne of Boaphile helped me design a cage that will expand to 16 feet as she grows, with areas to divide off so I can place her food in one "cage" while she is in another, and simply pull a board, and VOILA!! she can eat her food, and I'm at no risk of being mistaken. In the year, I've received one bite from her, which was completely my fault. She occasionally huffs when she figures out that I'm not feeding her, rather I'd like to hold her, but once she's out, she's great. I took some more pictures last night, and have a little picture montage When I got her, she was 404 grams, and just about 4 slender feet. She's bulking up nicely, and is now at about 7.5 feet, and 2482 grams as of last night. Enjoy!

Oh Katie... Only you could get away with having an AfRock named Tinkerbelle! She's such a pretty girl!

Very pretty, she looks like she's keeping her pattern really nicely too.

Re: Tinkerbelle - then and now
I named her Tink cause she was so small and fragile when I got her, but had such a big snake personality, lol. She's a good girl. She and I have our routine down, and she doesn't take to variation very well... she's a stickler for routine, and it's been a pleasure having her train me in her ways

Gorgeous little afrok. Rocky(We didnt name him he was a rescue) prefers routine too. it might be a afrok thing. He wants to be handled in a surten way and not past the surten amount of time etc. And if you push him past his boundaries he shows you by lunging(Always at your face!) openned mouth halfway towards you and stopping. Hes an odd snake but we love him.
It takes a special kind of person to appreciate affroks for how they are . Their great though.
