Help me find a Home for my Retic Python
Hi everyone!
I'm really hoping someone can help or at least point me in a direction to someone who can help me out.
My wife's company purchased a python a few years back for their company. Kind of a company pet if you will. They spent A LOT of money on an amazing enclosure for her. It has vines all over, water feature etc.... I believe someone who designs zoo exhibits actually built it for them. It's pretty large, maybe 8-10' wide, 2-3' deep and 8' high or so. It has a lot of vines in it and she is having problems staying in them (because of her size)
The snake is just getting way to big for them. It's even getting to big for the enclosure. They really don't want to give her away but she's to much for them. We checked with a few local zoos but their enclosures aren't even as nice as what we have. We want her to go to a great home.
Is there any place that is somewhat local to Ohio that could have an interest in her? I'll try to get some photos of her and her enclosure. She's as healthy as can be. If I had to guess I'd say she's around 15+ feet long.
Nick

Re: Help me find a Home for my Retic Python
Did you check with the local herp society? They're usually happy to help and have great connections. Good luck! And keep us in the loop.

Re: Help me find a Home for my Retic Python
sorry I have absolutely no knowledge about snakes. I only know that they contacted a few local zoos and were not happy with what they heard when talking to them.

Re: Help me find a Home for my Retic Python
you could get any snake questions answered here. A few members on here have a bunch of reticulated pythons, and would be able to answer any retic question

Re: Help me find a Home for my Retic Python
also, I would not be so concerned with how "nice" the setup is, as the local zoo will probably do a better job of taking care of her than some other people. Most people don't have $10,000 cages for their big snakes. Just something that fits, and works.
