Feeding switch (help)
Okay so I might be aquiring a large tiger retic in the next few days. But there's a problem - he eats live.
I do not agree with live nor want to feed live ever. EVER. (:
So for all you experienced large python owners - what is the best way to switch from live to f/t? I want to do it asap.. I just need to know if some things worked better for some of y'all versus some things not working at all.
Thanks in advance all!

Re: Feeding switch (help)
Just to add (not to be offensive no worries! :P)
He said he attempted feeding f/t but the snake rejected it.. so that's why I'm asking. Maybe I should try first?

Re: Feeding switch (help)
Deffinetly try it. He might not want to eat RIGHT when you get him. Its a big transition. I really dont think you should have a problem. definetly use tongs.
How big is he? jw

Re: Feeding switch (help)
He's a little less than 10 feet. I'll take pictures once I get him home.

10 feet? I thought you said he was big , Just joking. Try getting the head of the rabbit nice and warm using some warm water or a blow dryer, the heat from a warm blooded animal almost always makes a retic go into feeding mode. Also, making the rabbit bleed a little bit through it's nose or mouth will help make the retic more interested in eating. Not being mean or anything but are you new to keeping retics, if so getting an adult male might not be the best thing to do. Some males can be rather quick to bite during the winter months.
