Burm won't eat rabbits
I've got an eight foot burmese normally has no problem eating. He doesn't hesitate with rats frozen or live but when it comes to rabbits (1 to 2lbs) all he does is strike out and grab it, then after a second or two of constricting he lets go. With the rabbit still alive, chasing the snake around the cage, literaly. I'm out of optioins i've tried this twice my other burm is enjoying the extra food though. if i could get any input it would help or has anyone seen this behavior before and if so what was done.

Re: Burm won't eat rabbits
Try feeding frozen/thawed. If my dinner was chasing me around my house I don't think I'd feel much like eating, either.

Re: Burm won't eat rabbits
If you try using a frozen/thawed rabbit, it's a whole lot easier to get it to SMELL like a rat. Rub it in some dirty rat bedding after it's thawed, or even thaw it in the plastic bag with a bunch of soiled bedding. Since it's no longer putting out its own alive rabbit smell, it'll end up smelling like the rat and it should do the trick. You'll probably only have to do it once or twice until your snake gets the hang of it. Good luck!

Re: Burm won't eat rabbits
Rabbits are pretty darn aggressive to boot, and a well-placed bite from a live rabbit, especially one that's stuck in an enclosure with something that's obviously attacked it, could easily kill, or irreversably injure your snake, by way of damaging bite to the face/spine.
Use a f/t rabbit and scent it, as it seems the burm's not too interested in them to begin with..
