Decide what heat source to use :) finally :)

ok well thanks to boaterr i decided to use a kane heat mat for my 8 ft. long by 30 in. wide by 2ft. tall burmese python cage. I rather have belly heat for my snake than overhead heat just seems to make since for digestion and i was wondering if any1 i mean any1 could tell me what size i needed to get and how much its going to cost me. Also it needs to be able to heat threw 3/4 plywood and cypress mulch. I think i need the 13" by 36" one just making sure before i decide to buy, any1 can leave a comment. Thanks for your time very appriciated.

i see you decided to get a heat mat, but ive had great luck with this flexwat heating tape from pro exotics and with a Johnson Controls thermostat
Pro Exotics :: Reptile Supplies
you can order the heating tape by the foot and its only 2.60 per foot and 3" wide
and the thermostat will help you get the right belly temp and keep it steady, you can turn it up high enough so it will heat through the plywood and mulch, also you can get a the $25 temp-gun that will tell you the exact surface temp of the heated area. it makes it so easy to pinpoint everything

just a suggestion
good luck
