Sorry, know this is a few weeks old but I just wanted to add something.
I've seen this too and I just have to say that I feel so sorry for the snake. I mean, look at how they're handling that thing, if someone had their hands wrapped around the back of my throat and head squeezing like mad I'd try to bite them too. I mean, this wasn't some snake that had been raised around people, etc... as far as it knew, it was being attacked and was defending itself...IMO, appropriately.
Someone mentioned respect, and I think that has to be the best way to put it. Yes we have to respect the primal nature of snakes we own as pets but more-so we (we being humanity/society) need to respect the fact that if we screw with nature, in whatever form, we need to be willing to accept the repercussions for messing where we don't belong.
To me, it's like the people who slap alligators on the head and ride their backs so people throw $$ at them and then act surprised that the thing bites them. Then the animal is euthanized for "attacking" a human. We should start euthanizing humans that abuse and attack animals....that'll teach 'em...haha (kidding obviously

)
I can't help but think about how long this snake has lived in the wild and all the things it's overcome only to reach the size and age that it is. Only to be messed with by some S. American military yahoo's who (up until the bite) were just having a grand ol' time playing for the camera. /rant...haha
Sorry, I'm way too empathetic....lol
