there's a long history of judging the worth or 'note-worthiness' of a snake by it's length..  The old price lists (where you bought stuff sight-unseen) had prices based on length.. The biggest stuff always cost more! .. now that's almost always turned around since keepers want smaller boas and other snakes that are adaptable and have long lives ahead.. back then there was no expectation of keeping exotic snakes alive for long.. Anyway.. the large snakes were priced more mostly because they cost more to ship!

I could be totally wrong of course (has happened once or twice).. and who has the bigggest and baddest snake is the burning question in everyone's mind right now! .. so don't let my rambling stop anyone from bragging on the size of their snake..

the biggest i had was an albino burm 13ft. My retics got up to around 7-8 ft. i was at work one night and a winter storm came and i guess the extra weight from the ice on the branches tore down the powerlines and by the time i got home the next morning they froze to death. (it was about 20 out)

Sorry to hear about that, I use battery backup generators on three things in the reptile room, the UTH (2) and the space heater! I havnt had to use them yet but when I do they will be worth the 80$

Depends on what you have plugged into it. Mine lasts 45 minuites. You can order them online, they have them at most retail stores.
