Question about Albino Burms
A buddy of mine recently rescued an albino burm. I had a chance to hang out with him yesterday, and I was just curious...do albino burms get pink heads as they get older? His pattern also looked a bit weird to me. Very faded. Do their patterns fade as they age? This guy was a good 9 feet. It just didn't seem quite like it had a normal burm look to it, but then I have only ever seen babies. This was my first experience around a big one. Sorry I didn't get pics...I know, I know.

Re: Question about Albino Burms
my albino burm doesn't have a pink head, but has some pinkish tones to it...more right after he sheds...he is about 5 feet give or take...
i do believe their pattern does fade as they get older also, but it probably differs from snake to snake!

Re: Question about Albino Burms
Yes, they ALL Fade w/ age and Size. I've raised and bred them before, the Babies are beautiful. Thats why they used to be so popular. If You want a 'Big' snake thats color gets BETTER w/ age, You want an Albino Retic! Lavender or Purple phases. Their Colors literally get better the older they get!

You see enough of them with missing eyes and skin diseases and you will change the way you look at them.

i know albinos are prone to medical issues, but the snake is still gonna be sold and produced even if i didnt buy it. so i think it would be better for it to have a good home with someone to care for it right than just some kid or something that won't take care of its special needs.

Yeah that's the reason why I really don't have one. An Albino would gouge my checkbook as it is, and why would I want to pay that much more for medical expenses.
Nahh. I'm good with my yellow-head
