Re: Apep stalking something more edible...
the day after i feed my burm he does the same thing. he seems to have the impression im going to feed him everyday. some burms are truly garbage cans. they have unbelievable feeding responses.

Re: Apep stalking something more edible...
I mentioned it on the other forum, but apparently not here. My brother is the one who took the videos, not me. Since I have the videos, and it IS pretty cool to see, I figure I will post it.
I just dump the rat in there as I'm not interested in their feeding at all. There is a third video where he gets and constricts the rat, but I will not post any "kill" videos, ever.
EDIT: He has also been eating as often as he wants to. So it's not like he's starving to death here.

Re: Apep stalking something more edible...
Just picking on you stalk. My retic is an eating machine unless I give her something large to eat or multiple prey items. I fed her a xxlgGP on Sunday and she has not attacked me yet.

Re: Apep stalking something more edible...
He's not stalking me for like, the first time since I moved him to his 6x2x2 cage a few months back.
Know why? He's in shed as of today.
He got me right in the thumb to remind me he's in shed and to leave him alone today. Still can't break my skin, my hands are nearly completely calloused. Freaked me out, though.
I didn't see the blue eyes. Whoops.
I'll be getting the medium rats Saturday morning, see how big that is in relative to him.
Serena, who is bigger than him, is still stuffed on Small rats.. Yikes. Takes her about 4 days to digest.

Here's the other video. Not as good quality as I had to compress it for the upload.

Re: Apep stalking something more edible...
You may want to stop teasing him. Eventually he will strike more and smell less. My retic never strikes in a shed or after a meal, only when she is hungry.

Re: Apep stalking something more edible...
Pretty nice looking burm.
Raze, its funny you said your retic never eats in shed, because when I try to feed my burm when he's in shed, he just "stalks" as in the video, with just as strong of a response but he doesn't strike.
