Pics of my new female retic

I did not get the burm I was going to adopt (The people who I was going to get her from decided to give her to one of their relatives). I was very depressed that I was not getting that little burm, so me and a couple friends decided to go to the monthly reptile show to help take my mind off it. I just went to the reptile show to browse, when I noticied a man and his family carrying something in a small cage that looked like it was meant for frogs. I casually asked what was in it and he told me it was a female retic that he could not take care of. He opened the little cage and out slithered the most beautiful snake I have ever seen. I carefully picked her up and prepared to get bitten, but to my surprise she was as as docile as a cornsnake! She was so curious and she moved as fast as any ratsnake. Just when I was about to take her with me, I froze and just started to think that I am about to own the longest species of snake in the world. All I could think of was fluffy and pictures of 200 pound 23 foot retics. I called my other half to make sure she was ok with getting a female. She basically said "do not come home without that retic"!. So with her happy with it, I brought her home. She is about 5 feet long, and very fast. She was being fed 1 adult mice per week (I wanted to kill him when he told me that). I bought about 30 adult to X-large rats and I have a good rabbit breeder that I have on call . I will give her 4 days to settle in before I feed her and let her grow into the giant she is destined to be Thank you to everyone who helped me make my decision to get a retic. Some of the pics I was able to take (She would not stay still, all she wanted to do was explore) . I will take better pics with a better camera after she gets situated and comfortable with her new surroundings.

Congratulations on your purchase. Looking at retics, I certainly can understand the temptation. I recently got to handle a 17 foot super tiger retic at a reptile show. He was about the coolest creature I've ever seen. Do I want one? Er..uh...no.

opps, photoshop accident? She is resting over her heat pad looking just as beautiful as can be. We have a real connection, I mean she pooped on me twice already!

Congrats and welcome to the world of the obnoxiously large snakes. I got my female in April at 6'11" she is now (as of yesterday that is) 8' 1" You can quite literally watch these snakes grow. lemme see if I can dig ya up a photo for comparison.

Found some for you. the first one is Just rather funny it is both of mine when I was feeding other snakes. the next two are actually around 2 months ago. I can't find any recent ones. Aha the last one is rather recent. like a week or so. And yes I have been working alot on her nose rub which is the way I got her. Doing much better now I might add.
