Yes. The rest of what I posted got erased for some reason. I moved to an area that allows giant snake ownership, I have a 4 foot cage already set up(proper humidity and temperatures have already been set, I have a large backyard that can give my pet lots of room to move, and I have several people other than my spouse that can help me move him when he becomes an adult. I am leaning towards buying the retic because they are more active, smarter, and would probably appreciate the room I will give him more than the burm. Both can be docile, you just have to put the work at it.

Re: PHelp me decide between a male Burm or a male retic
With a 4 foot cage, what is your plan after the first 6 months are over? Either a burm or a retic will outgrow a 4 ft. cage lickety-split.

Re: PHelp me decide between a male Burm or a male retic
I do not know anything about burms But I know a retic will out grow a 4 foot cage in less than a year. I have heard burms are more docile than retics but behavior is not something you can depend on. Some people end up with mean red tail boas, every snake is an individual and if you are planning on getting rid of it, if it is not docile I would recommend not getting one.

Re: PHelp me decide between a male Burm or a male retic
From talking to people on other websites about retics, baby retics do better if kept in a smaller cage an then the cage can be upgraded after the snake reaches about 4 feet. I know a great deal about oth animals in question, but I like to hear owners opinions. I have dealt with large monitors for over 4 years so bites and blood are nothing new. I was trying to keep my bci from climbing up my T.V. while I was typing so I made a huge error. I wanted to know where is the best place to buy male normal retics from,I am buying a retic not a burm. I was thinking Bob Clark or Mike Wubanks but are their some other names I should be looking at also.

Re: PHelp me decide between a male Burm or a male retic
My retic went from 2 feet to almost 7 feet since Oct. so again what are you going to do in 6 months?

Re: PHelp me decide between a male Burm or a male retic
Put him in a 8*3*2 monstercage that should be here by September. That should last him for at least a year. I have a nice amount of disposable income that I am investing in this retic.

Re: PHelp me decide between a male Burm or a male retic
If you are already considering Mike Wilbanks and Bob Clark you might as well go with them. Two of the best in the business with retics. They can be expensive but well worth it from what I have heard. I plan on buying a super dwarf from Mike hopefully next year. The cage from monster cages should house a retic for the its entire life comfortably, but even if it doesn't I do remember you saying something about a 10 foot cage. Good Luck!
