That is great!! His cage is 8'x3'x2' and I don't use a hide with him. If he wants to stay out of sight, then he goes behind his HUGE, 40 liter, water bowl.
Here is a pic of his cage, it is the one on the bottom.

I no longer use carefresh, just simple newspaper. Much easier when cleaning up after a Retic that seems to urate quite often. I also have junked the old thermostat and now use a HELIX.

Looks like you have him working out with some decent size dumbells.

Yea, you know he loves to keep in shape. He thinks that someday he will have a nice girlfriend and so he keeps working out so he is ready. I just don't have the heart to tell him that I don't want to have to handle a full grown female retic.

Re: Tiger Retic Feeding: PICS, PICS, PICS!!...

Hi DannyBoy,

Nice looking retic thanks for posting the pictures. I see you are feeding him in a tote. I use to believe in feeding in totes too until I got Xena my big boa and Tigger my tiger retic. Xena is just to big to fit in a tote LOL and Tigger stays in a feeding mode for about 1-1/2 days. Trust me you don't want to try and pick Tigger up when he wants to eat. Now you and me both have male retics but could you imagine trying to feed a 20 foot + female retic out of her cage and then try and put her back in her cage after. NO THANK YOU. LOL
I also don't believe that if you cage feed your snake will become aggressive every time you open there cage. I feed all my snakes in there cage now and none show any feeding response when the cage door is open. I do use a snake hook for Tigger and my bigger boa when I first open there cage. I just tap them on there head and they are just fine for me to reach in and pick them up.

Take care
Tom

LOL, your right that would not have been right!
TOM,
I also use the tapping on the head anytime I feel like the snake I am dealing with is getting a little to "focused" on me if I am about to pick them up, it works pretty good. Just breaks their concetration. Good luck with Tigger.

Re: Tiger Retic Feeding: PICS, PICS, PICS!!...

I wish I could have a Retic.
But they are WAYY too big for me right now. And I'm completely content with my Red-Tails who will get 7+feet.

but someday, I WILL own one.

Old post; funny that either Brad or I brought it back from the grave too!

And that we have a retic now.
