92 degrees is too hot. It would be fine for a basking spot (don't let it get any hotter than that).. but 86 on the warm end is more like it.
Why not to get a Retic:
Retics get huge. Males too. The Baldogos (breeder of my retics) have a 20'+ male, 180lbs. Have you ever seen a full grown retic in person? They look like they could lift a car. Or barely fit inside one. A 29 gallon tank wont last long at all.. they grow like crazy. My 9 month old male is pushing 5' and is eating medium rats. He is not power fed.
You can feed them once a week. But the more you feed, the faster they grow. I'm feeding mine (juveniles) every 14 days. They have crazy feeding responses. A 15' snake looking to grab anything (with his head the size of a grown man's hand and teeth to match) coming in his cage is more than many people can deal with. Fortunately, Retics are rather smart, and many respond to "hook training"... rubbing a snake hook on them to calm them. But that aside, you still have be EXTREMELY careful. Will you be able to purchase rabbits for him? Really big rabbits?
And when that giant wants to move, there's not too much you can do about it. Will you have someone else around when you want to handle him? Or when you need to clean his cage? Someone to help when he's feeling crabby and doesn't want to go where you want him to? Never handle a grown retic alone.
A closet is not a good a place to keep a huge snake for many many reasons... just don't do it. Plan on spending $500+ for a custom 8' x 4' enclosure, unless you can build your own.
Retics are huge responsibilies. A 6' boa or burm DOESN'T EVEN COMPARE. Get some more experience... learn how to properly care for the snakes you have, and go from there.

Good information trend.
Also, like she said. Keep in mind that you CANNOT handle a retic without someone else there.
