burm or retic?
i finally have the means of keeping and maintaining a burm or retic. now... which one to pick... i really love the colors of a normal burm and i heard that retics are a little harder to take care of. i definitley want a male cause they will grow smaller than a female. any suggestions?

A male burm. Still a massive piece of mucsle but if you KNOW you can take care of a 15' 170 lb snake then its up to you. Have you ever handled a large burm on your own? I would make sure you can honestly take care of one. It is a long term comitment and it will be also be a potentionally deadly commitment.

i have handled a 13 ft burm before with someone else watching. that individual was very tame and although heavy, was managable.

i hate how people dump their pets and cause all sorts of havoc in their area. the burm or retic will be in my care forever. a large boid is what i wanted from the start but i knew that i needed some experience with other snakes. i feel that i am ready.

thier both huge responsibilities. a burm IMO is better to start off with. thier better intro snakes to the large constrictor world. from what i hear, retics are smarter than burms, and hit 10x harder when feeding. while retics are beautiful, and next on my giant list (wont be added for a looong time), burms are better to start with. make sure you can afford it, and check your local laws to see if they have any regulations.
