Maybe you still smelt like mice. I had ruby try to eat my hand after a rat. She just opened her mouth and tried to swallow my hand. lol It hurt when I tried to yank my hand out.

Congrats!!!!! Now wait till your Burm bites ya!!!! Just kidding of course. Snake's bite it happens from time to time when you least suspect it.......... A little reminder also I used to keep Burms years ago the bites are not bad until they are around 12 feet and mistake your arm as food and its teeth are stuck to your arm because a couple teeth found a little fat to make it threw the other side and this big heavy snake is pulling back and jerking its head around trying to get loose.. Man that sucked it hurt like you know what but hey have fun hahahaha...

32+ years of keeping snakes...I have never been bitten by a ball python. I've stitched up and otherwised doctored countless beat up. mangled and stressed out rescues, probed thousands of them, handled...who knows how many?...no bp bites ever...I don't think I've ever restrained one in any way either except maybe for stitches or to get one's mouth opened. Now...If my luck was that good with amazons, I'd have a lot less holes in me.

It's ok, like everyone has said, welcome to the club. Most/all snake owners get the wonderful experience of being bitten.

congrats? or I'm sorry???? lol
Pissy's come close, but I've never been bitten by my Balls. < HUH???!? > Wrigley tagged me last week...I think. I suspect he did, because of the flash of movement...but I'm not sure. LMBO It didn't hurt, but drew blood. Just a sting (sort of like slicing your leg shaving ) or a bad paper cut, and a little bit of blood. It makes a difference too, for me, because my hand and thumb/fingers are partially numb (permanently) there, so I didn't really feel much of anything.....just a sting and the blood.
I'm waiting for the day when he's a BIG BOY (right now he's only 150g) and NAILS me!!!!
