OOPS! My burms were breeding today.
Well I am just an idiot! My albino male had made a huge mess of his cage and there was poop everywhere so I moved him up to my females cage so that I could clean his. Then I got side tracked by the wife and forgot to go back out and clean his cage. Then it was off to work this morning and I got back late this afternoon. Well I walked into the snake building and immediatly remembered about the cleaning by the smell that greeted me. I then noticed my males tail wrapped partially around the females and opened the cage to investigate. I then lifted up Daisy's tail and sure enough he was right in the middle of mating with her. With snakes that big it is hard to miss, LOL!
So I don't know if she has ovulated or not at this point. She kept acting like she wanted to all last month and I just kept her temps up and fed her. But now I will have to let nature take it's course.
Luckily my friend has a HUGE incubator if needed. WHAT WAS I THINKING!

Funny?! Not really since my female is big enough to lay a whole bunch of eggs. I truely don't want a bunch of baby burms.

If she does lay the eggs then don't incubate all of them. Just a few. It sounds like a waste but with all the poeple dumping burms off now adays, the market is just too full. Most peope aren't fully aware of the responsibility they really are. Daisy will lay a LARGE clutch and you could have a hard time finding that many responsible people that you would sell the burm to. IMO just incubate what you know you can sell to trustworthy people and feed the rest to a kingsnake or whatever you want. If it was anything I could have here in omaha legally I could help you out but burms are banned here so I can't help you out. Sorry.
Keep us updated
