Rescue Burm
This big girl came in today. She is 13 years old and about 12 feet or so. Because of her age, size, and temperment, she is going to stay in my collection for use in educational programs and displays. She does not have any apparent medical problems, although she will be vet checked soon and I will run a fecal as soon as she gives me something to work with. It is a female that giets to live out the rest of her days in comfort educating the public and will never be bred.
She was being kept in a 75 gallon aquarium in the winter and put out on a screened in porch in the summer! I am amazed that she is in such good shape and so docile.
I still need to come up with a good name for her.

She's beautiful!
I'd love to have a burm in my collection, but I just don't have the space yet. (keyword: yet)
Good luck with her!

She falls under my "12 foot rule". Anything over that is just too much for me. Of course, i will not be working with her by myself. There is no antivenom for asphyxiation. I will try to get a weight on her this week. Guess i need to drag back up a rabbit supplier. The last time she ate was 2.5 months ago. It is about time for another feeding.
As far as I can tell, she seems healthy. I even got my stethoscope out to listen for RI and did not hear anything. But she is getting vet checked anyway.
