growth
un less you can get your snake to stretch out and lie still they are hard to measure. at the rate you describe, he would grow to be over 50ft in one yr! maybe you have the star of the next great snake movie lol.

Did you possibly measure the snake five days ago and the snake's shed today?
I can promise the snake didn't grow that fast Mabye he pulled the ol' switcharoo on ya! He had his older brother bust him out and in turn got trapped in the cage, lol. You gotta watch those Bivvittatus, they're sneaky sometimes, lol.

They were 24" when I bought them Feb. and Mar. of 2001. My albino is between 13 and 14ft and my lab is 10ft. They don't grow much anymore. I also don't feed them like some burm owners do. They are fed very sporadically.

How come you don't feed them like regular Burm keepers?

Have you seen a FAT burm, it's not attractive. I like to keep mine looking sleek and clean. I hate to see a burm with all that loose skin around their head.

To be honest, no I haven't. Ours are far from fat, and they get 10% body weight every 14 days, but I wouldn't say that was overfeeding. How much do you feed yours? Do you leave it more than 14 days, or do you just feed less then "normal"? I'm not flaming here dude, I'm genuinely interested as a fellow Burm keeper.
Thanks
Paul

Right now my albino is eating almost on a weekly basis, she lost alot of weight and didn't eat till a month and a half ago. She's trying to get her girlish figure back after dropping her clutch. My lab still hasn't eaten since last november and still looks the same. I'm trying to get him on rabbits and he's refusing, I may have to break down and give him some rats. I have been trying to give him 2-3lb rabbits and the albino is getting 5lbs

Yep, know that feeling. Been trying to get our bigger boy on Rabbits for what feels like an age! He just will not take them. He's pounding Rats like there's no tomorrow, but having to give him 5 Giant (1lb / 500g) Rats every fortnight is far from ideal. How often are you feeding the rabbits? Also, how big are your snakes? Our big boy is about 12ft and well rounded, but certainly not obese.

My albino is around 13ft or so, my lab is 10ft. I am giving my albino a rabbit every week, I'm going to austin so when I get back I need to pickup some rabbits. She hasn't eaten in 2 weeks so when I get back she will be ready. My snakes pretty much let me know when they want to eat.

Sweet collection. Got any tips for getting them onto Rabbits? Tried superheating and scenting. Even tried hiding a rat under a rabbit in his cage, but he just found the rat and ate it.

I just offered the rabbit to my albino and she hammered it, the lab has struck and constricted but didn't eat. One of my big boas took to rabbits on e the first try. I offer nothing but frozen meals to my snakes. Some people have suggested pre-killed but I won't try it.
