my albino burm
my elbino burm is very healthy and very active he loves his big home but he has a problem shedding he has shed about 3 inches from his nose down and about 2 in from tail up still has a 6/7 inch patch of skin left some one says i should crank up the humidity about 12 % is this right?????

i dun know is that right, but i think u can try to soak him for 30 minutes or more if necessery. then he will shed the rest of his skin.

When my Snakes go into the "blue stage" I crank my humidity up to 70 to 80 % and yes you can soak her but prolly gonna take more than 30 mins I have soaked mine from 1 hr up to 2

thnks 4 the help but one more question what should be normal humidity in the tank can u over do it?

80%-90% will cause breathing problems and bacterial infections. Air ur enclosure out for a few days and try again or add some more holes for air flow. 50%-60% is a good humidity for burms, in shed u could move up to 60%-70%.

When mine are in shed I mist them twice a day until they shed. I also use T-Rex's Bio-Mist reptile skin conditioner on them while in shed. I have had perfect shed since I started useing it too. I picked up a bottle at Petsmart and it has lasted through severl sheds of my 2 over 12ft. burms and 2 boas over 6ft. And I still have about half a bottle left. I jsut mist them all over and wipe with a paper towel to make sure I get their whold body. I even wipe their heads too. It seems to work really well. I have had great luck with it so far anyways.
