burm ?'s
how big will a male burm get? Someone told me if you regulate there feeding, they will not get as large as quick. is this true? ( not like starve them, just regulate the feedings)

A snake is going to grow at the rate that a snake is going to grow when it is fed properly.
One prey item equal in girth to the widest part of the snake.
If you do less than that to "control the growth" you will be starving the snake.
A burm is going to get somewhere in the 13-18' range... maybe a bit longer.

Also note that in the case of a Burm, a single prey item equal to it's girth is pretty much starving it anyway. A Burm is a giant snake with a fast metabolism and an appetite to match it's size.
There is no way to keep a Burmese healthy and small at the same time, it's one or the other. It's also worth taking into account that an underfed Burm is a really pissy Burm and is not going to be fun to be around at all. Do you really want to have to deal with a 9ft (at least) bad tempered snake? It's still capable of killing you at that size so you stand to gain absolutely nothing by underfeeding it. Much better to have a happy healthy giant than to torture an animal because it suits your requirements.
If you don't think you could house, feed and handle a 15ft 200lb+ snake then the Giants are not for you. It really is that simple.

ok, thank you. my friend was telling me he knows someone with a 3 year old 9 1/2 foot burm. he said that the guy regulated its feeding, so it stayed small. but i kinda figured it was starveing it.
thanks

This is our Domino. He's 11ft at the moment. He's handleable, but I never let my guard down or become complacent with him. For anybody who's thinking of getting a Burm I would have to say that you really need to handle one before you actually realise how BIG they are. The white viv in the background is a 6 x 2 x 2, just to give you an idea of his size.

My male just turned 12 and is 13ft. and approx. 95lbs. . He is quite tame though due to regular handling.
He is still one big beast!
