The first baby from my Leopard's 2nd clutch hatched over night. I wasn't expecting them until next week. I'm not ready for them, which is not excuse because I should be. I am planning on building a rack system but just haven't had the time and now the babies are here!! I've taken the little one out of the deli cup with eggs and put him in a larger one so he's all alone. Right now he's just chilling in the incubator. I know he can stay there for a while, but would I be making a mistake by putting him in with the babies from the first clutch? I make sure each hatchling gets their fair share of food, and the first two are growing nicely.

I do have a plastic shoe box, but I don't have heat tape or even a human heating pad. Although I have an extra heat lamp. Should I fool around with that and see if I can get the right temps??

Thanks for any help!
Ashley

My leos surprised me too. They layed eggs this year instead of next. So I have been doing some research and from what I have read it is a good idea to separate all babies or at least by size so that the smaller ones can get food too. I would suggest keeping the new hatchling alone. You can get a cheap red light from home depot or some harware store to put over the little guy for short term. That is what I have on mine, the light can be on 24 hours cuz they cant see that range of the spectrum. Hope that helps.
