odd gecko Question
A good frind of mine was given a gecko, and she sais that it turns dark when it gets mad???
Anyone know what kind that could be?
I was thinking that it might not even be a gecko, but I thought I'd ask the smart people.
Thanks.

could be many different types, but the one that comes to mind is a tokay, they can get pretty dark when harrassed.
but many lizards species will get darker depending on mood.

heh yah Tokay came to mind here too..They seem to turn darker when they are too cool too, probably to try and absorb heat....but I have definatly observed it as a mood indicator.

No pic, but I plan on going to her house just to make sure she has the right setup for it, and to see what it looks like. I am sure I can ID it by sight. Thanks folks, =).

one way you can ID a tokay is to try and touch it, if it bites and hangs on for dear life, then thats what it is.
