Hi there, all. It has been a long time since I have posted at RTB. It feels good to be back. Like moany of us, I have begun to take an interest in those little crested critters. Anyone got some good advice on getting started with Crested Geckos? I just got a line on a few.

I just got what i think will be a good hook-up. Best I can tell, they are gong for somewhere in and around 100 each, but I think I might have a good deal comming my way. I have been interested in these guys ever since I first saw them awhile ago. Now that the price seems to be declining a little, My pockets are itching. So, Yeah, if anyone has already jumped into the crested thing, let me and Captin know. Thanks

i got my crested at a pet store for $80. i've seen them go for about $40 at shows and some breeders. have you tried CrestedGecko.com? i seem to remember them having some awsome looking animals and good prices.
what i like about cresteds is that you can put one up in a 10 gallon even as an adult. they only get about 5 inches or so long. plus you don't need extra lighting and heating. they are nocturnal so unless you have live plants you don't need UVB bulbs. they can eat fresh fruit (as to what kind i'm not sure mine seems not to like kiwi and star fruit), fruit baby food, or what i use is T-Rex's dry diet replacement. they don't shy away from a cricket ever now and then, just don't make crickets 100% of their diet. from what i heard they are more omnivorous.
oh and a word of warning: They DO NOT regrow their tails. thankfully mine still has his. knock on wood.
here's a care sheet i found:http://www.kingsnake.com/rockymountain/RMHPages/RMHcrested.htm

I think he ment from head to vent John. The tail would make it significantly longer.

uhh...yeah i ment from head to vent....yeah that's it.
but really, someone told me that they stay around 5 inches or so. i guess i should have realized my mistake by just looking at mine, who's almost 5 inches now and still only a few months old.
