Re: one of my bday presents, a leopard gecko
thanks! besides how awesome she looks and how extremely docile and eager to explore she is, i love how much self control she has.
when i feed her (every other day) a few meal worms, a few crickets and 1 or 2 wax worms she can pretty much decide when she is done, usually she will leave the last meal worm alone, i remove it, and she is done.
also, my favorite thing about her (and also what i find most interesting) is that she chose a corner of the tank and made it a bathroom... she ONLY goes there... its a nice tiny pile. very easy to clean.
she looks like she's missing the tips of some of her toes... the toes are still there, but some look like they have claws while others dont. other than that she is all gravy.

One of my favorite things about leos- they kinda potty-train themselves
The missing toes is likely due to improper shedding. It wont effect her now, though I'm sure it was painful when she lost them. Just keep a humid hide in there and you shouldn't have to worry about any further damage to the toes.

And in the future when she sheds, make sure you check that the skin is not retained on her toes...pretty common problem with leos.

actually, it isnt that common if you have a proper set-up. its only common because so many keep them poorly. :/
