Gargoyle Question

Ok I have read the caresheets on gargoyles and I have everything set up like it is supposed to be. Only question I have is I was told to put in two or three crickets for him to eat. I did and he has not ate them... I put in two and I was wandering if I should be worried or just leave him be for a few days?

Throw something in there for the crickets to eat so they don't chew on him. Cheerios are fantastic for this.

I'd hold off on the live foods for at least a few days, personally. It's good to give them time to look around and get comfy without distractions.

I know you've read care sheets, but a lot of them have outdated info, so I'll just make sure.. You're feeding him crested gecko diet, too, right?

Yeah but the guy at the show was trying to get me to buy gargoyle gecko diet for like 3 bucks more and I have a lot of cgd left so I was actually meaning to ask if there is a difference ?

Yeah, there's a slight difference..I think it's the amount of protein. Repashy stopped making the GGD a while ago, so I don't know how good the gargoyle powder would be by now.

I feed my garg CGD. He's gone from 8g. to 26g. in less than four months. The stuff is great!

Sweet I actually need to weight the little guy when I get in from work. I been just trying to leave him a lone for bout a week to get adjusted.

I'd say the CGD is fine, that's what i've raised all my gargs on.
As for the crickets, when did you feed him? gargs, like cresties, are nocturnal and more likely to eat at night rather than in the middle of the day. If he doesnt eat, he's probably still just adjusting. give him a few days then try crickets again

Thanks Sam... I left two in there with a couple cheerios so they wouldnt eat at him. I havent tried him on them in a couple days so I am gunna throw one in there tonight with him...

id stick to cgd myself. out of my 4 rhacs only my male crested will do crickets. the rest act like they arent there. some just dont eat em
