I have a mossy leaf tail here, it's my best friend's, but his apt complex claimed he was creating a cricket problem, so I am keeping it here for him. What we have is one adult female, in a 20 gallon, with a plexi top with some venting on both ends. We used bed a beast substrate, some bark flats, and a live pothos. she gets misted every day or two (the setup keeps great humidity), and fed a twice a week, a dozen crickets at a time. Once ever week to two weeks we dust the crickets with calcium. She does great, her tail is nice and fat now (unlike when he first bought her, it was a little stubby thing). No special heat, she stays around 78-82 during the day, with about a 5 degree average night drop. They are pretty hardy as far as cool goes, I have seen it drop (not intentional) to as low as about 68 in there with her, and she was fine. Heat is a concern though, as temps over about 85 can cause heat stress and death relatively quickly. We haven't used
uvb on her, reason being where they are from in the tropics, they don't get much, mostly hiding in the day, and she has done great. We do use a calcium with D3 though.
Uvb wouldn't hurt if you want, I just haven't seen it's need. They are fun to watch, extremely fascinating in appearance, and relatively docile, something close to a crested in temperment, though more apt to run at first when you take them out.
If you find a good source, let me know, we are sorta looking for a male at some point to go with her.
Good luck
Brian
