Cg market?
Well, it'll take time before my snakes are mature to mate. Why not get started on some early projects?
I was going to get into breeding cresteds. The only concern I have is the market. How fast will I sell the babies? Slow, or fast?
Reason im asking is because I don't want to have 20+ cresteds for the rest of their lives, because I'm unable to sell them.
If this isn't a good choice, any other alternative geckos? That become sexually mature fast (well you know, faster than others) pretty easy to care for with low maintenance, and aren't so popular (no Leo's please )
Thanks guys.

Re: Cg market?
I love cresteds. I've got 2 breeding pairs now, and 2 more that will be mature next year. I work at a reptile shop so I have no problems selling my extras.. but not everyone has that option.
I'm just curious.. why is it that you want to breed them? (or any gecko for that matter). I personally think it's incredibly fascinating. It's not about the money, but i just love 'em
If you're worried you wont be able to sell them, and dont want to be forced to holdback a ton, then I wouldnt breed them.
I honestly think it's best to see if you can sell them locally. Cresteds don't go for a ton, and shipping is a pain in the you know what these days. I usually sell hatchlings for $50, but I've had shipping as high as $85 for that one gecko.... so not a ton of people are going to want to spend more on the shipping than on the animal. lol
Just my $0.02

well, I'm not really in it for the money, I just though since these animals are sexually mature a bit on the faster side, then I would start with them.
I live in NY, so basically I think more people will buy from the east coast so save on shipping.
I think I can say "Available for shipping, or pickup".

Re: Cg market?
Well shipping's going to be pretty bad no matter where you are. lol.
anyway, if you think you'll be able to sell the babies quick enough, go for it. Do you have any cresteds already?

Re: Cg market?
ahhh gotcha.
Well, they're a pretty cool species to work with. I really enjoy them. I've only kept leos and cresteds, but I work with a bunch of different stuff, and Rhacs are by far my favorites

It will most definately be for enjoyment. For the buyers, I will make sure they know how to care for them, and they get a price that fits them best.
