He's never been on sand before. I just got him 3 weeks ago from a PetSmart that had had him for about 2 years. They had him on Repti-Bark (which damaged his tummy scales) then on Repti-Carpet. He LOVES the sand.

It's fun to watch them do something different when you put something new in their cage, isn't it. My kingsnake, for example, would be bored out of his mind if he didn't have a deep substrate to burrow under.

I think I'm going to buy him about 20 more lbs of sand so he's got more to burrow into. He loves it. I think he has fun hunting for crickets in the tunnels he makes.
