rescued leo
Three days ago my co-worker told me he had a gecko and it was mean as all H*** and he was tired of taking care of it. I went to his place with him and this poor guy had no water, poo all over his cage and hadn't been fed in over a week (so god knows how long it took for all of that poo to build up in his cage). He said he wanted $30 for the gecko and the set up. I gladly gave him the money and took the gecko home. I cleaned the heck out of the cage. Half of the sand substrate was glued to the bottom of the tank. I picked the little guy up and he licked my hand, this guy was and is far from mean he was just being treated poorly. The previous owner never gutloaded the feeder crickets or dusted them with D3 for the past three months. My wife was all against keeping the gecko when I was talking to her on the phone but when she saw him she fell in love with him and quickly named him Smog. I've never owned a leo before but I've done my fare share of research on them over the years, and I'm glad I did or else this guy would still be in a bad situation.

Re: rescued leo
that poor thing.. I'm glad it's in better hands now. Leos are pretty easy to take care of- I'm sure he'll be back to perfect health in no time.
Good luck!

Re: rescued leo
here we are with the long awaited pics. FYI he isn't in his cage, but the holding box he goes in when I clean his cage. He gets 5 to 6 crickets a day (dusted with D3) and five mealworms throughout the week. He is a cool little lizard and I'm very happy to have him in my home.

Re: rescued leo
leos were never on my "must have list", but he needed out of a bad situation. The same week I got this guy I was asked to take in a four foot bci and three foot bci. I just don't have the room or finances to help every animal that needs it ( according to my wife).

Re: rescued leo
He's adorable! Looks like a bigger version of my girl, Rosemary. They're such sweethearts if you just take the time to be patient with them.
