is it dry? I've heard of reptile species occasionaly producing dud eggs for various reasons (smell of a male, certain seasons, etc)

It's a dud egg, unfertilized. Sometimes females produce eggs, kind of like chickens, with no male contact. Just toss it out, it is absolutely infertile.

Yeah it was dry as a bone. Empty too. I just wasn't sure if leopard geckos produced infertile eggs. Kind of cool to find though.

Yeah, almost every gecko species does this, if they are ready to mate they lay eggs.
