Frog-eyed gecko info?
I'll be picking up a frog-eyed gecko that I'm adopting tomorrow. I've looked up some care guides but I wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with these critters. This little guy is about four inches long or so.
Here's what I have planned for him so far:
10 gallon tank
Play sand substrate
Two different hides
Shallow water dish
UTH
I know they have sensitive eyes so a heat light is out of the question. I also know these guys are display pets only. He won't be handled anymore than absolutely necessary.
Sorry for the poor quality pics; I only had my cell phone on me.
I would have posted this earlier but I just found out today that he's up for adoption and I've had my eye on him for a few months now.

Re: Frog-eyed gecko info?
He's adorable, Kelly! I don't know much about gecko care (unless they're cresties!!), sorry I can't be much help.
Good luck with him! He's definitely in good hands now.

Re: Frog-eyed gecko info?
I brought him home! His name is Gargamel (you can thank my boyfriend for that one). I'll post new pics as soon as he's settled.

Re: Frog-eyed gecko info?
What about food for him? He shows little to no interest in crickets but he devours waxworms like there's no tomorrow.

Re: Frog-eyed gecko info?
Insectivores, should eat crickets, roaches, stuff like that. Try to get him off of wax worms

No I asked them what he was eating and they said only crickets. When I picked him up there were multiple crickets still in his cage and he hadn't eaten any crickets at all since I'd brought him home. The waxworms were an attempt to get him to eat SOMETHING. I'll try the crickets again tomorrow. He's probably just stressed.
