best beginner gecko's
What gecko's do you think are the best for beginners?
What gecko's do you think are good for advanced people
what gecko's do you think would sell best in a good pet shop ( don't judge all shops......in a year to year in half,I'm planning on opening one)

Re: best beginner gecko's
Personally I’d say don’t get far into anything advanced for a pet shop. Most pet store buys are impulse so stick with somewhat easier stuff like Leopard, Fat Tailed and Tokay. For a little higher dollar have some Cresteds and if you want to offer something beautiful, that looks exotic, stock some Dwarf Yellow Heads.
The one thing all of the above have in common is they are not too terribly hard to provide proper husbandry for.
PS. Offer a comprehensive care sheet with each sale.

Re: best beginner gecko's
Just a brief idea:
Simple, easy to care for- Leopard Geckos, Fat-Tailed Geckos, Crested Geckos
More complex- Leaf-tails, Day Geckos
I will tell you what, I work at a pet store, and we can hardly keep leopard geckos in the store. They are probably one of our fastest-selling animals. They are easy (even for kids) and require pretty simple care.
Tokays aren't hard to care for, but they arent a super-popular gecko because they're agressive and a gecko that bites the crap out of you is not something people look for in a pet (USUALLY).
that's all I've got for now,
I'm sure JT'll pop in here with his input, he's a gecko-guy, lol.

Crested geckos are great and they also sell great too and produce just fine. They incubate at room temps which makes iteven easier. Ive sold 5-6 hatchlings to stores and they are gone in a week or less. They are a very good beginning gecko. They dont need any insects at all if you do not want to feed them insects. I feed mine a MRP (meal replacement powder) and it meets all their needs. They are kept in 20 gallon tanks on end so they are tall with a piece of driftwood, paper towel as substrate and fake leafs to give them cover. They are easy handled too.
There are also some other very good geckos out there that are more expensive. Im more of a fan of arboreal geckos so Im a little bias. I love leachies, chahoua's, gargoyles, day geckos (not as handleable), some australian terrestrial species (diplo's g.'s expecially).
Leachies or R. Leachianus are my favorite gecko but for hatchlings they can run from 400-1200$ for a single gecko. Adults they go from 1500-4000$. You ask why? They get HUGE HUGE HUGE!
There are some amazing geckos out there but really how much are you looking to spend, what are you looking for, what do you want out of the gecko?
Now if your getting into advanced geckos, leaftails. They are usually full of parasites an everything because most of them are WC.
Most geckos are very easy to care for if you can provide for them.
I have three male adult crested up for sale and if you want more info on them I can give you all the care you need to know. Just PM me.
Here are some pics:
