Frog eyed gecko compatibility
There is a frog eyed gecko that I've fallen in love with who may need to be adopted fairly soon. He's ornery and tries to bite just about everyone but me (hence why I love him). While I say "him" I'm not sure as to his gender. He's not used to being handled, so I don't want to stress him out too much. He's gorgeous and I'd love to have him.
My questions are:
1. How do you tell gender? It is the same/similar as sexing on leopard geckos?
2. Can a frog eyed gecko be housed with leopard geckos? I have three 6" female leopards in a 20 long tank (which I will soon be upgrading to a 55). The frog eye is about 4".

Re: Frog eyed gecko compatibility
Im not much of a gecko person but rule of thumb is not to house any reptiles together..
It can be done but its harder than to just keep them seperated; I am sure leopards have been housed together succesfully before, but I wouldn't.
But for sure dont house two different species together...

Re: Frog eyed gecko compatibility
I wouldn't put it with your leopards just because I'm very paranoid about passing diseases...whenever you get a new animal you should ALWAYS quarantine it from the rest of your collection for at least a month or two. (and I mean especially not putting them in the same tank, AND not even the same room!)
But I agree with Luker...dont put them together: in fact,, I wouldn't even keep the leo's together either. I did that at one point and they ended up getting very territorial.
I'm not saying it's going to happen to yours I'm only saying that it CAN happen. Getting a larger tank will make territorial issues less relevant but they can still arise. Do whatever you think is best for your Leos. I know that territorial issues are more intense in males than females but you can never rule anything out when it comes to reptiles.
