Crested Gecko Diet?
My crested doesn't like his CGD. Ever since I got him 3 months ago, he hasn't touched it. I usually mix it up before I go to bed, but when I wake up, it doesn't look like its been touched at all. He loves crickets, but I'm worried he's not getting the nutrition he needs. Do yall's cresteds eat CGD? Is there a trick to getting them to eat it? Thanks!

Re: Crested Gecko Diet?
they don't eat much, really. Have you tried to feed him some off your finger? I thought for the longest time that mine weren't eating, but it turned out that they were.
I think Clarks Diet (it might be CGD) sells "flavor enhancers" that you mix in to make it have a fruitier taste.
if he's not losing weight and he's eating crickets fine, I wouldnt worry

Re: Crested Gecko Diet?
I have 4 pairs that i feed roaches, crickets, and baby food with vitamins add and they are doing great and breeding like crazy. I have never really messed with CGD. I do know of people bottle up bird dird necter and swear its crested food.

All of mine pig down on CGD. I mean even the 1 week old hatchlings eat it. How old is your crested? What are the temps? Cage size? Humidity?
You can try dipping its nose into the food if your afraid its not eating. I do it with EVERY gecko I get for the first week to get it eating and make sure it knows that thats its food.

Re: Crested Gecko Diet?
Letting him lick it off my finger, I'm amazed that didn't occur to me.
Jtmoney-
He's in a small exoterra cage, and I think hes about 4 months old. Its anywhere from 70 to 80 degrees during the day (depending on the time of the year), and I think it gets cooler at night. And he gets sprayed once a day. He eats crickets happily, so not eating isn't a problem, hes just not eating his fruits and veggies like a good little boy...

Re: Crested Gecko Diet?
yeah, my little juvi was the first one I raised, and he barely ate any CGD for some time. he ate a TON Of crickets though, so I wasn't worried. Try to get him to eat some off your finger or a Q-tip, you might be surprised. I let all the babies do that because it amuses me (but only every few days ;] )
