i wouldnt suggest it. the alot of uroplatus are WC, and they dont do spectacularly, they are a difficult species to care for, and definitely not suited for children. most adults cant even keep them alive. wc status plus parasites, plus very specific temperature requirements [85 is too hot for them] make them over all not very good pets. if your daughter wants a gecko, start her on a leo or fat tail, even crested geckos dont do well being held.
expect that for your daughter, its going to be like having a fish tank. she can never touch it, and it will never move, and when it does move shell most likely be asleep. i hate to sound so negative, but expect that if you buy a leaf tail, it will probably die, and then you will need to bleach everything it came in contact with.
