well, i woke up today, and i discoverd that my leopard gecko was missing! How this happend is a mystery. The ventilation crack is the only "possible" way out of the cage, its like 1cm broad and i cant understand how my gecko could have squeezed through...my gecko is 2 years old and about 17-18cm long. ok, so lets say that he got out of the cage, where would he most likeley go? i know that a window or two were open in the room, is it possible he went outside? if so, he will die from low temperatures. help me someone!

When one of my leo's went missing one day I thought they escaped the same way you thought they escaped. Just so happens when I looked under the water bowl I found her. Leopard geckos love to hide underwater bowls and other objects that are in the cage. If you looked everywhere in the cage and you still can't find the doll, then the most likely place that she/he will go is somewhere warm dark and small. So if it happens to be the heating vents or your bed spring matress or the dark corners of your closet, that's most likely where he/she is. Sorry that you lost your precious little gecko dear. I wish you the best luck in trying to find her/he.

Well unlikely he won't go out to a window. Leopard geckos are not really really intelligent, but you never know, some are smarter than others. In what places did you check for him? Unless you had the window open without a screen it's highly unlikely. I would check all the windows and make sure there are no rips or tears in the screen. He's bound to turn up somewhere. If he did get out, then your leo's mortality is in jeopardy. You can try and search around your house in dark crevaces and such, he might be there. Mostly likely he died because of he couldn't properly thermoregulate or a bird picked him up. I sorry to say such glum news, but leo's are such small animals and are a treat to any bird or cat.
I hope you find him!

Yeah, we have four cats, and some of them spend much time inside, as for some we keep outside. I did have both my windows open the night my gecko wanished, i came home late, it was saturday night, so, u know, i didnt' check on my gecko as it would be stupid of me handeling him in my current condiction. I last saw him daytime, saturday, i went out after putting him in his tank, and came home at night, woke up at sunday, thats when i discoverd he was gone...
Now its been four days, i think i would have found him by now if he were to be inside the house, my property outside is so big that i cant possibly search it all, and the temperatures are so low that it would end him...
Im afraid my hope of finding him alive is wanishing...its really sad...

or you coud try too make the house quite cold and put the heating mat were you think it might be and maybe later it'll get cold find the mat and be sat there waiting
for you and if that dosent work you could try looking in other warm places it could go

this is unbelievable, i actually found my leogecko 10 minutes ago, alive!
his tail and body is very thin, i have put him in his cage and given him some water, i dont have any crickets/mealworms to feed him and all the stores are closed, so ill have to wait to tomorrow.
its been quite cold around here lateley, the last two days i have been using a oven for room heating, and this evening when i walked in the door, i saw something moving at the floor in front of me, and it appeared that it was my gecko which had been missing for over one month!
im wondering if there is anything should do, except feeding him .. ?

Yeah, make sure it has plenty of water!
Check for any retained shed on its toes and tail tip also.
