Handling my leo second bit!
Hi i wrote a few weeks back, about handling my gecko, well i have got the picking up bit sorted and he goes on my hand but he is quite active and always moving on my hands, and i was wondering what i should do whn he is actually on my hands?? should i take him away from his cage and do something im not sure..??
any ideas? thanks

See, I won't own a gecko because of that. I could imagine dropping him/er a million times before it goes into a coma from brain damage. Sorry, as far as handling all I know is, very carefully.

start off holding him over your cage, so that if he does drop, it isnt very far.
you can do something called "walking" the gecko, which basicly means, let the gecko walk over your hand, and then put your other hand in front of him to give him some place to go, etc. eventually he'll slow down and tame up.

OK thnx bleedin i did tht last night but all he wanted to do was get out of his cage by climbin up ma arm LOL! I think hewants to do something interesting rather than just sit there but i dont know what??? anymore ideas?

Lol tried that with Syna but she doesn't walk, she'll sit there then suddenly bolt/jump. I swear she was a daredevil in her previous life

what do you have in the encloseure with it? hide box and water/food bowl excluded.
maybe try a few small pieces of grape wood or something for it to crawl around on and under. maybe its just bored and wants something to do
just my thoughts.
