vent licking?

One of my juvie males started to lick his vent the other day and has not stopped. Is this normal. He has been eating fine, and I checked the vent,m and it looks clear. TIA

Pin worm adult females will venture out to the anal opening at night to lay eggs. She also deposits a substance that causes severe itching so that the animal or person will scratch or lick and hopefully eventually or directly swallow some of the eggs so they can repeat their life cycle. I'd get a fecal done or you can usually snag some pinworm eggs with clear tape right off the vent and stick the tape to a microscope slide. That would be the only likely health issue explaining vent licking that I can think of. If it's not that, he may just do it because he can?

what... kind.. of gecko.. is it? i love these total general posts. is he just licking his vent? or is he licking a peen? i agree with JS, it could be something you want to take it to a vet for. if hes licking his vent and not his peens, its not something hes getting much pleasure out of...

Sorry, I forgot to say its a Leo. He just seems to be licking in the gerneral area, its hard to tell if its the peens or vent. thanks for the advise, I'll have a fecal done.
