I believe Adrya had some luck oholding her tokay. They are supposed to be the meanest around. I have never held one put I put my finger up to a cage that one was in and I could feel him hit the glass. wow, those things are pure evil

If you have extra bugs or thawed out mice, they will eat the ones you don't feed. I have heard of large tokay geckos eating small adult mice. True or not they are magnificent animals

at my nephews petshop when i would watch the store if he had to be gone for the day i would sell the scorps, spiders, snakes and anything else. but i refused to even get near the tokays. i hate them things. i use to have nightmares about them. when my nephew was young he had one and it would stick to the wall and hiss when people walked by. finally it bit him between his thumb and index finger and we couldn't get it lose. we ended up drowning the darn thing to get it off! i was glad it was gone.

I perfer viniger for those pesky biters. I tried alchohal when tess started latching on and that burns when you have a bunch of open cuts where she is biting you. I will stick with viniger now. I have always wanted to try and get a nice breeding group of tokay going. The possibilities are endless and imagine being able to be one of the first people to sell tame c/b tokay on ks.com

Hey, what a surprise for you all to mention me. heehee
Tokays can be tamed to a certain extent I believe but I think they're cutest when they're the mean little suckers that they are. Brett I believe used to have one that he tamed into a complete lap puppy. I have managed to hold mine a few times when I needed to thorougly clean his cage and I haven't been latched onto by him, yet. I just kinda let him set in my shoulder for a bit while I cleaned his cage and he didn't seem to mind too much, he looked more curious than anything. I'd say he's 11 inches long or so.
I've mostly been feeding mine roaches, superworms and crickets but the past few weekends I've fed him f/t fuzzy mice for the first time and he loves them, and it's a nice solid meal for him with some calcium and other goodies already in the pinky. At first when I offered the pinky to him with a pair of tongs he got all ticked off, puffed up and huffed like he was getting ready for a battle. LOL but then once he grabbed the pinky, he shook it a few times then realized, "Oh, I can eat this!" LOL He's cute for a mean little bugger. He's barked and bit at me quite a few times but no worries. I personally like the Tokays not only because of their ferocious personalities, but they're really pretty as well.

Mine was around $15 I think but the petstore guy ended up selling him to me for $10 because the tokay escaped when the guy went to get him out of the cage, and so I immediately helped to try and catch the lil' dude, and it was a difficult chase trying to catch the little guy, but we finally did.
With the attitude that tokay's have I doubt he'll be sold tomorrow, so he should still be there tomorrow. If you need any help with getting some things right setting up the tank, let me know.

I think you can house a male and female together, or have a small group of tokays, being 1 male and a few females.
But I'm not sure, so I'm hoping someone else can come along and answer that for sure.

On the caresheets we have read they all say you cant house two males together but you can house females, but none of them say if you can put 1 male in with females. we ae hoping so!
