Just taken my gecko to the vet to have his sex checked, I now have a female gecko called Halford *sigh*, but the important info my vet gave me was on a new study done on nocturnal geckos and vit D3. It has been found the geckos living on the eastern side of slopes stay up longer and bask in the sun for a few hours in the morning and that geckos on the western side get up earlier and bask for a few hours then. He (my vet) said it is the studies and his recomendation for geckos now to have access to full spectrum lighting and that it would be beneficial to their health. Don't have any more info on the actually study but thought this may help a few people over the vit D3 debate, also he would not under any circumstances recomend the use of vit D3 drops! Intresting. I'd like to find out where he is getting his information from.

Yeah I should have asked I was just trying to think of a girly derivative of Halford, and trying to extract the piece of plastic used to open my geckos mouth which she had decided to clamp down on and not let go! I'll probably be back there some point soon and will ask, or I could call tomorrow! Just having a search on the net now for more info.
