Gecko dying
Hi, everyone I am a new struggling owner of a leopard gecko. I bought the gecko in October and everything was great until last week. I noticed he quit eating and he had some old shedding stuck to his limbs in which I could not take off. I tried peroxide and eye oitment like the manual stated but nothing yet. I bought the manual today by the way to find out what the pet store did not inform me about such as a vitamin c supplement and a moss box to help with shedding. Well, I came home today and noticed his jaw seemed rubbery or broke. My immediate reaction was who broke the lizards jaw and I realzied that a vitamin deficeincy can cause this reaction. So now what do I do. Is there a liquid supplement or something I can do for the lizard to help him out or is it too late. What other suggestions for the skin on the feet. Is this a common problem.
Thanks,
Troy

if your leo is young, you can use paper towls in the "wet box" instead of moss. also, i read that you can put him in some shallow water for a little while and that will loosin up the skin for him and then you might be able to pull it off with tweezers. i don't know what to tell you about his jaw. but you should deffinitly go out and buy some vitamin suppliment and dust his crickets or meal/wax worms that you feed him. i don't know if this will make his jaw better, but it will keep from any thing else going wrong with his bones.

I had the same problem with my iguana....there is a powdered calcium supplement for reptiles at some pet stores....and if you can't get him to eat, you may need to hand feed him...I had to stuff a suringe full of a babyfood/ calcium supplement mixture and feed it to himm....I'm not exactly sure what you would use instead of baby food....

I guess hand feeding for the time will be your only way. I would mash the mealies a bit to make them softer.
