Right now I have 8 baby leos, the oldest are 6 weeks and the youngest 4 days. I keep them in pairs by clutch and recently the first born baby has developed small lumps on each of his sides near his tail and his tail has shriveled up terribly. I separated him into a tupperware container on paper towels right away. So far the others look fine and are all eating and having normal stools. I plan to get him to the vet ASAP but I was wondering if anyone else that has bred and dealt with hatchlings has had a similar problem and if so what could cause this? They have been kept on paper towels since birth and I change them daily. Everyday I take out the towels where they poop and put in clean ones. They have only been exposed to each other and none of my others are sick. My adult fat tail once had flagellate protozoans and was treated with flagyl but she had no simptoms like this and plus this was way before the leos were born and the fat tails have never even been upstairs in my house before. I have also treated a 3 month old leo with a herbivoric parasite, it got it in the pet store after being put in an unclean cage that housed sick iguanas but again there was never any contact and I always wash my hands when going from any one lizard to another despite the fact that they are all healthy. I am very worried about the little guy, he was the oldest and strongest. I have tried soaking him and nothing has happened, and I haven't noticed any poopies lately. There is no substrate so I can't imagine impaction and all I still feed them tiny pinhead crickets. Any info or advice anyone has would be appreciated.
